Program Objective – Banking and Financial Services Certificate:
Access Business College in partnership with the Canadian Securities Institute has been offering an exceptionally well designed Accounting Certificate Program with several financial certification preparation courses. The goal and objective of this course is for students to become qualified in the Financial Service Sector such as credit unions, mutual fund companies, insurance, banks and mortgage companies. These organizations are demanding skilled Financial Representatives with certifications and accreditations with the Canadian Securities Institute and the Investment Funds Institute of Canada in order to be an asset to the financial industry. The skills acquired include banking services, handling of customer accounts, foreign exchange transactions, bank accounts management, investment instruments, valuation of customer credit, online banking, and customer service. Graduates will have the skills and knowledge to successfully work in a variety of positions, in any of Canada’s major banks and many other financial services organizations.
To be a competent, confident and successful Financial Representative it is imperative to proficiently understand and apply financial terminology, fundamental and principles. Graduates hold numerous prestigious titles such as Investment Managers, Operations Managers, Consumer Credit Manager, Loan and Credit Managers, Credit Card Center Managers and other Financial Officer positions such as Credit Analyst, Financial Associate, Foreign Exchange Officers, Loan Officer and Bank Teller. Access Business College is certified and accredited by the Canadian Securities Institute and Investment Funds Institute of Canada. Access is an authorized testing site by CSI, IFIC for enrolled students and all accreditations/certifications and associated costs are included in the tuition fees.
Students may choose to continue expanding their career path in the Financial Services Sector by taking additional courses such as the Canadian Practice Handbook Course (CPH) which mainly deals with stock trading and the rules and regulations related to ethics and practice. The Canadian Insurance Course I & II (CIC) which concentrates on different types of Insurance Policies such as life insurance, disability insurance, group insurance, annuities, critical illness, accident and sickness, long term care, the underwriting process, evolution of the industry, financial ratings, term life insurance, whole life insurance, universal life insurance, supplementary benefits and riders and other related insurance topics meeting specific needs. Students may qualify to write the LLQP (Life License Qualifications Program) to become a licensed insurance agent.
The ICB courses with the Institute of Canadian Bankers include the Canadian Practice Handbook course (CPH), Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Canadian Insurance Course (CIC), Investment Funds Course (IFC).
